Paul Ryan says he’s not going to run for President.
Now I know exactly how Tony Harris felt when the International Olympic Committee told Obama to get lost.*
*Tony Harris, BTW, has left CNN for slightly jazzier surroundings. Why, I can almost hear him now, even without my tv on: Qaddafi is OUT?
The news about Ryan is utterly disheartening. The idea that “it’s not his time” is total bullshit. Structural reform of the budget is his issue. The time to do it is now. We are totally running out of time. Nobody else in politics can explain what must be done, and why, nearly as well as Ryan can.
And to those who think he’s “too young,” gaze upon these facts and tremble: Ryan’s great-grandfather died of a heart attack at age 59. Ryan’s grandfather died of a heart attack at age 57. Ryan’s father died of a heart attack at age 55. I hate to make such a morbid point, but Paul Ryan may not have much more time than Social Security and Medicare do.
This is just completely depressing news. I desperately wish he’d reconsider.
Looks like Palin is our only hope.
