Student Loans in Perspective

A few quick numbers, the last three based on Census data showing about 250 million U.S. residents under age 55:

average student loan debt owed by 2011 college graduates: $23,000

U.S. Treasury debt held by the public, per U.S. resident under age 55: $40,000

Present value of unfunded Social Security liabilities per U.S. resident under age 55: $40,000

Present value of unfunded Medicare liabilities per U.S. resident under age 55: $98,400

Unlike the Tea Partiers, the Occupy [Your City Here] morons haven’t got the slightest clue what their problems really are. They don’t seem to understand that the mistakes they made in taking out student loans pale in comparison to the mistakes that are made in Washington every single day.

These retards are vivid evidence of the utter collapse of the U.S. educational system, from bottom to top.
